The Vision

The Maya Bioregion — A Vision of Sanctuary Earth

Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua

The Maya Bioregion is a living vision held by Sanctuary Earth, the great circle of love and remembrance for Mother Earth and all living beings.

This sacred vision is guided and supported by the Thor Force from the Salish Sea, where the ancestral voices of the Coast Salish Peoples still echo through the waters — the Lummi, Saanich, Tulalip, Samish, Suquamish, Nooksack, and many others — who since time immemorial have honored the whales, sea lions, and salmon as their relatives, not their resources.

Here, in the Salish Bioregion, the teachings of the ancestors live on: that the health of the people is one with the health of the waters, that every breath we take belongs to the forests and the ocean, and that the circle of life is sacred and indivisible.

From these northern waters, this ancestral current flows south into the heart of the Maya Bioregion — weaving a great bridge of love between the ocean and the jungle, between the cedar and the ceiba, between the song of the whale and the call of the howler monkey.

This is a call to all hearts:
to remember that the animals and rivers know no political borders.
They follow only the call of the Mother — the heartbeat of the Earth.

We invite you to visualize your own Bioregion, to listen to its ancient voices, to honor its guardians — human and non-human — and to rise as a Guardian of Love.

Together, one guardian, one organization, one government, one institution at a time, we will embrace the whole Earth as one living sanctuary.

Because the time has come to remember:

The ancestors are calling.
The Mother is calling.
Let us answer with devotion, with reverence, and with love for all life.
